McCreary Centre Society (McCreary) is seeking a skilled facilitator with strong youth engagement skills to support McCreary’s ongoing youth groups and to conduct online and in-person workshops with youth across BC.

The successful candidate will initially focus on facilitating healthy relationships workshops with 2SLGBTQ+ youth, as well as gaming and gambling awareness workshops with youth in Grades 7 to 12. They will also support McCreary’s various youth groups.

Key responsibilities

  • Organize and facilitate healthy relationships workshops with 2SLGBTQ+ youth.
  • Organize and facilitate gaming and gambling awareness workshops with youth in Grades 7-12.
  • Support current McCreary youth groups, including preparing and facilitating sessions with the Youth Health Ambassadors, Youth Research Academy, Young Indigenous Research Team, Youth Action and Advisory Council, and BC Youth Advisory Council on Health and Wellness.
  • Support data collection and report preparation for a range of youth engaged research  and evaluation projects.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and document focus groups and interviews with diverse groups of youth, using a trauma-informed approach.
  • Assist in the completion and dissemination of youth-friendly documents.
  • Mentor and support practicum students as needed.
  • Any other youth engagement duties as required.
Qualifications (education, experience, skills)
  • A minimum of two years’ experience working with 2SLGBTQ+ and other diverse youth in a trauma-informed way.
  • Experience facilitating groups and conducting interviews with diverse youth populations.
  • Experience preparing reports and other dissemination materials for youth and community audiences.
  • Strong facilitation skills.
  • Committed to Truth and Reconciliation.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Awareness of needs of diverse youth populations and communities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Organized, flexible, and adaptable.

Compensation (wage only)
$54,167 per annum
